matt noble

worked as a craftsman for his uncle, a General Contractor while earning his degree in International Business from San Francisco State University. The team specialized in high-end kitchen and bathroom remodels. Matt stayed on to work for his uncle full-time for five more years.

Spending over half a decade in the Bay Area exposed Matt to a food and wine scene that inspired him to move to wine country where he also attended and graduated from Napa Valley Cooking School in 2011/2012. He went on to apprentice in the kitchen of the Michelin starred Solage Resort. From there, he followed a longtime passion for fermentation to Antica Napa Valley and worked the 2012 crush. The association with the world-renowned winery got him an internship at a world-renown brewery, Trumer Pils in Berkeley, California. Matt rose through the ranks from Cellar Intern to Head Brewer working under Brewmaster Lars Larson. Matt led his team to a gold medal win at the prestigious 2016 World Beer Cup for best German-style pilsner.

The Nobles moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Maggie’s home town, and Matt went back to building, starting Noble Improvement, a home renovations company in 2017. Since then, Matt has been busy working in other noble homes but he still finds time to be the resident pancake chef and he bakes the occasional loaf of bread from a starter he created from Western PA wild yeast.
